MARCH MONTHLY REPORT

MARCH HIGHLIGHTS

The dewatering process for the sludge disposal began in March. At this time, Synagro has emptied one tank. This will allow the grit and debris to be removed from the tank so that it can be inspected and cleaned. Synagro will continue the dewatering process as long as the weather and field conditions are favorable.

Generator #1 is still under a major overhaul. Charles Equipment has removed the generator to take it back to their shop to complete the overhaul process which includes rebuilding the engine to the manufacturer’s specifications and current product upgrades.

Triple R Equipment completed the replacement of the skimmer flights on the #2 DAFT (Dissolved Air Flotation Tank). Prior to installation, the flights were abrasive blast cleaned and primer coated by Lincolnland Coatings, Inc.

The Asset Management project is continuing and Clever Monkey Media has been working on a training film for the various plant areas and the new equipment.

SCADATech has been contracted to inspect and calibrate the magnetic flow meters. The inspection dates are scheduled for August 23, 2007, and February 21, 2008.

During March, operations and maintenance staff completed 280 scheduled /preventative maintenance work orders and 100 repair orders. At the end of March there were 179 open work orders. There are approximately 126 open work orders at this time.

INFLUENT FLOW

Table 2.1 summarizes total flow and average daily flow to the facility from each municipality.

ODOR ISSUES

The odor complaints this month were due to the dewatering process and the warmer weather. A letter was drafted and distributed to the area residents to explain the situation.

EFFLUENT QUALITY

Table 3.1 summarizes the effluent quality data.

SAFETY

The Safety Team met on March 28, 2007, to review the safety concerns at KRMA.
The application for the safety grant in the amount of $1,300 has been sent to the Illinois Public Risk Fund for approval. In the application, KRMA has requested grant money for additional training videos. The money will be available for reimbursement after May 1, 2007.
The Safety Team will implement the safety incentive program during March.

PERSONNEL

At this time, KRMA staff will continue to train on various aspects of the new equipment.
