JANUARY MONTHLY REPORT

KRMA’S JANUARY HIGHLIGHTS

KRMA, Meccon, Tyson Engineering, and Strand Associates are working to clear up any remaining issues left open on the IEPA wastewater improvement project list.

Generator #1 is under a major overhaul at this time. Charles Equipment has removed the generator to take it back to their shop to complete the overhaul process.

The parts to replace the skimmer flights on DAFT #2 (Dissolved Air Floatation Thickener) are on back order. Triple R Equipment will install them when they are received.

The annual IEPA review for KRMA took place on January 17, 2007.

The WEMCO Chop-flow pump is on back order with Ley & Associates, Inc. and will be installed by Glade Plumbing and Heating when they arrive. This pump will be the first of two pumps that will replace the east and west primary scum pumps.

During January, operations and maintenance staff completed 331 scheduled /preventative maintenance work orders and 97 repair orders. At the end of January there were 158 open work orders. There are approximately 114 open work orders at this time.

INFLUENT FLOW

Table 2.1 summarizes total flow and average daily flow to the facility from each municipality.

ODOR ISSUES

There were no odor complaints received this month. The new chemical and biological units have had a few adjustments since installation and continue to operate as designed.

EFFLUENT QUALITY

Table 3.1 summarizes the effluent quality data.

SAFETY

The Safety Team met on January 30, 2007, to review the safety concerns at KRMA.
The Safety Team will be implementing a revised safety incentive program in February. This safety incentive program will encourage KRMA staff members to do additional safety activities for which they will earn points. Once a staff member has reached a designated point level, they will earn a reward.
We will be ordering additional safety training videos for the monthly training. The KRMA staff will be trained fork lift training and tornado/ inclement weather topics in the upcoming months.

PERSONNEL

The KRMA staff is responsible for the snow removal to maintain the KRMA roadways.

Staff members continue to train on new equipment issues.

SLUDGE HANDLING

The total amount of sludge at the end of January was 4,370,200 gallons.
