KRMA’S DECEMBER HIGHLIGHTS
Triple R Equipment completed the work on the DAFT #1 (Dissolved Air Floatation Thickener) in mid-December. They removed and replaced the existing skimmer flights (33) and installed the replacement skimmer flights. Triple R Equipment will also be removing and replacing the skimmer flights on the DAFT #2.
Holohan Heating repaired the heating coil in Building 55. This work involved repairing the corrosion and leaks on three air handler heating coils and replacing two vibration eliminators.
Charles Equipment began working on the major overhaul on Generator #1.
R&R Inc. repaired the water leak between Buildings 40 and 66 on December 13, 2006.
Simms Engineering, Ltd. continued work on the Asset Management Program.
KRMA staff continued to work with Meccon on remaining issues concerning the new equipment.
The annual IEPA (Illinois Environmental Protection Agency) review is scheduled for January 17, 2007.
Continental Farms will begin hauling sludge in January when the weather permits.
During December, operations and maintenance staff completed 279 scheduled /preventative maintenance work orders and 93 repair orders. At the end of December there were 161 open work orders. There are approximately 142 open work orders at this time.
INFLUENT FLOW
See File 1 for total flow and average daily flow to the facility from each municipality.
ODOR ISSUES:
There were no odor complaints received this month. The new chemical and biological units are operating as planned.
EFFLUENT QUALITY
File 2 shows the effluent quality data.
SAFETY
Due to the holidays and vacations, a safety meeting was not held in December.
PERSONNEL
Dan Combs is continuing his training as an operator at KRMA.
A holiday luncheon was held for KRMA staff on December 20th.

Hours of work in the maintenance department:

Hours of Training (includes safety training): 33 Hours of Safety Upgrades Performed: 8
SLUDGE HANDLING
The total amount of sludge at the end of December was 3,410,755 gallons.
