KRMA’S JUNE HIGHLIGHTS
In June, Triple R Equipment repaired the two 24” Dezurik pneumatic valves in Building 20. They disassembled, inspected, cleaned and reassembled each valve operator and pneumatic controls. Also, the plug valve main bushings were flushed and lubricated.
The Asset Management project is continuing and Clever Monkey Media has been working on operational training videos for the various plant areas and the new equipment.
Synagro will resume removing liquid sludge in July and plans to empty the remaining tank.
The major overhaul on Generator #1 has been completed. Charles Equipment did return on two occasions to adjust the controls after the unit shutdown.
Alex Hunter and Jason Johnson will be returning to college in July. Christopher Thompson and Bob Delmore will continue their summer internship at KRMA this month. They will be concentrating on lawn care services for KRMA.
During June, operations and maintenance staff completed 344 scheduled /preventative maintenance work orders and 74 repair orders. At the end of June there were 133 open work orders. There are approximately 178 open work orders at this time.
WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY OPERATION
INFLUENT FLOW
Table 2.1 summarizes total flow and average daily flow to the facility from each municipality.
ODOR ISSUES:
There were no odor complaints during June.
EFFLUENT QUALITY
Table 3.1 summarizes the effluent quality data.
SAFETY
The Safety Team met on June 26, 2007, to discuss plant safety issues and concerns. Adrian Davis and Nick Scheppler will become new members of the team.
The chlorine leak on June 21, 2007, was discussed. Several issues were addressed including forming a First Response Team, purchasing SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus) tanks, and checking the piping and regulators each year prior to the beginning of chlorine season.
In addition, KRMA will be part of the KNOX-Box program. This program requires a locked box containing a gate key be placed at the front entrance so that the Fire Department can gain access to the facility if necessary.
PERSONNEL
Adrian Davis was selected as the Maintenance Technician and began work on June 18, 2007. He will be training with the other Maintenance Technicians.
Nick Scheppler is continuing his operator training.

SLUDGE HANDLING
The total amount of sludge at the end of June was 1,277,832 gallons.
